A letter to my daughter

Description

Hold my hand, as I walk you down this path,

It’s hard, frustrating and it will even make you wrath.

You will hear them say women are diamonds and precious,

But listen up, my daughter our lives are also arduous.

They make us feel all pretty, beautiful, and elegant,

Then they fear admitting we are capable and intelligent.

Then some will call us smart, and others will call us strong,

But when we make our own decisions, they’ll tell us why we are wrong.

They repress our opinions and muzzle our voice,

But fighting for our rights has never been an easy choice.

No matter what they do, no matter what they bray,

Stay strong, my child this path is not all grey.

We need to say No and fight the status quo,

It’s time we shut down the patriarchy show.

Then there will come a time when you would have won the game,

Remember to look back because the start line for others has never been the same.
